Engineering Biosense Webster, Inc. is seeking a Staff Sustaining Engineer for our Irwindale, California location to support New Product Development (NPD) and Lifecycle Management (LCM). The position is responsible for lifecycle engineering and improvement, yield improvement, mechanical and electrical assembly, and troubleshooting. Responsibilities include: testing and design of tooling, requirements, and validation protocols; selecting design directions and modifications of system components; participation in decisions on scope of work, selection of equipment, and length of tasks; deciding on design and process changes to meet revised specifications; providing and developing solutions to problems of limited scope; and providing technical guidance to lower level personnel. Position will be responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating detailed phases of engineering work in part of a major project; and writing and updating work instructions, part specifications, validation protocols, technical documents, and various forms of reports and correspondence. Responsibilities also include writing/updating technical documents such as Process Failure Mode and Affects (PFMEA's), Engineering Changes Orders (ECO's), Non-Conformance Reports (NCR's) and Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA's). Position will provide guidance to engineers, draftspersons, technicians and others who assist in specific assignments, and ensure they follow company guidelines related to health, safety and environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition. Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering or a related field and a minimum of six years of product process development and manufacturing engineering experience including tooling, equipment, new production lines, validation / qualification of new equipment, new product manufacturing transfer from site to site, review and critique developmental protocols, completion reports, data analysis and recommendations from testing, and in the development and execution of project plans (time, budget and program management). A qualified applicant will possess experience with engineering theoretical fundamentals, such as, mathematics, geometry, physics, chemistry, computer aided drafting and studies of material; experimental techniques, such as measurement analysis, standards, statistical analysis, dimensional analysis, design of experiments; drafting software systems, such as AutoCad and Solidworks; statistical software packages, such as Minitab; project management; and drafting drawing system skills.
