Connecticut College - On Call Athletic Trainer Club Sports Provide emergency/non-emergency management and care for acute injuries, illnesses and medical conditions suffered by students while playing club sports. 

Job Summary:

Connecticut College is conducting a regional search for On Call Athletic Trainers for Club Sports to provide emergency and non-emergency management and care for acute injuries, illnesses and medical conditions suffered by students while participating in club sport games.  This is an on-call appointment and trainers will be asked to work afternoon club sport events that occur during the academic year (Sept. - May).

General Duties and Responsibilities:

The On Call Athletic Trainer will evaluate athletic injuries and medical conditions, and provide immediate therapeutic care for such conditions within the scope of practice for an Athletic Trainer and/or refer athletes to appropriate medical attention as necessary, during club sports games.  In addition the On Call Athletic Trainer will determine the advisability of play for injured athletes and report this status to the appropriate team official; provide proper documentation to the Office of Student Engagement of all injuries; demonstrate ethical behavior in regards to work duties and in relationships with student-athletes and members of the campus community; insure universal precautions for bloodborne pathogens are followed in compliance with OSHA rules and regulations and must review and attest to the ability to carry out Connecticut College's Emergency Action Plan for the venue(s) of assigned games.
