Supervisor Wastewater Collection Services

Starting Salary: $69,400 - $76,836

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with City/DNR/EPA regulations, including Inflow and Infiltration Reduction programs.
• Schedule, assign and supervise work in the field related to the operation, inspection, maintenance and repair of all elements in the wastewater collection system.
• Monitor and track planning, scheduling, design, development and management of the Wastewater Collections Systems GIS Asset Management and System Inspection & Maintenance Programs.
• Monitor system operations and adjust as indicated by demand, lab tests, gas level readings, volumes and flows.
• Manage and supervise outsourced specialty maintenance and repair work, including traffic control planning and implementation.
• Manage equipment, operations and safety procedures, safety equipment inventory, maintenance and inspections, PPE, material safety data sheets and the safe handling of chemicals, including the routine chemical dosing of the city’s sewer system.

Job Requirements:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with wastewater systems operation and maintenance required.
• Class B CDL is required within 120 days of employment. Valid driver’s license required upon hire.
• DNR Class A Wastewater Treatment certification within 120 days of employment is required.
• Certification of Hazardous Spill Response within 120 days of employment is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Experience with water testing and sampling, SCADA operations and electrofusion of HDPE pipes.
• Proficiency in the use of basic business software (word processing, spreadsheets, email, presentations) and basic office equipment.
