Leadership: Directs the day to day activities of the department. Edits time cards and approves payroll in API Time and Attendance system. Evaluates performance, provides feedback regarding individual and team performance. Recommends merit increases and corrective actions for employees within scope of responsibility. Resolves employee grievances and makes suggestions as appropriate. Responds to patient complaints.

Financial Management: Responsible for preparation and maintenance of departmental budget, including personnel, expense and revenue. Calculation of 6-month and 12-month quality and productivity bonuses for Radiation Oncology and Hematology Oncology physicians. Orders and maintains supplies and equipment needs of department. Manage documentation for Cancer Care Patient Assistance Fund.

Reporting: Provides monthly/yearly reporting of statistics for departments within scope of responsibility as well as professional billing to include charges, collections, discounts, budgetary, quality, patient satisfaction, etc.

Communication: Responsible for upward and downward flow of information between all areas of the Oncology/Radiology Service Line, NMHS/NMMC Administration, internal and external managers, medical staff and community population.

Liaison: Serves as a liaison between staff, physicians, patients, and family members to ensure effective communication/interaction.

Regulatory: Adheres to NMHS/NMMC policies, procedures, guidelines. Complies with appropriate local, State, federal policies, procedures, guidelines, regulations, laws, statues.

Requirements:Associate degree required/bachelor's degree in a business related field preferred or equivalent experience/minimum 3 years medical practice and/or supervisory experience required; minimum of 1 year supervisory/managerial experience required; knowledgeable in professional and facility billing processes required; excellent computer knowledge (software programs) required; excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills required; ability to work well with a wide variety of people required.
