MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT JOB DESCRIPTION:

Koch Foods is recruiting a 3rd Shift Maintenance Supervisor for its production plant located in Chattanooga, TN.  Koch Foods is a leading poultry processing company, specializing in quality products and customer service. Koch Foods of Chattanooga is a full, whole-bird processing plant.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for supervising, assisting and training all direct reports to establish, implement, and maintain suitable programs keeping all processing equipment operating in an efficient, dependable and safe condition.
  • Responsible for ensuring goals are reached in a safe and regulatory manner. 
  • Assist Maintenance Manager or Plant Engineer in analyzing all downtime, finding the root cause, and determining a course of action minimizing and preventing re-occurrence. 
  • Assist Maintenance Manager with monitoring and evaluating equipment performance minimizing downtime and equipment failure re-occurrence, and determining the frequency of rebuilds. 

Position has direct report responsibilities for Maintenance Leads and general Maintenance team members.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 5 - 10 years relevant work experience supervising Maintenance in a poultry processing facility
  • Must be an analytical thinker with problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. English language skills (reading and writing) are required.
  • Basic computer skills with working knowledge of basic computer programs.
  • Must possess knowledge of poultry processing equipment including Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic.
  • Excellent trouble shooting and problem solving ability.
  • Working knowledge of Lockout Tagout and other industrial safety practices.
  • Basic working knowledge of Refrigeration systems.
  • Basic working knowledge of HACCP, USDA and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and provide coverage for vacations or absenteeism, or as needed on opposite shift. 
  • Ability to read simple electrical schematics and prints in order to provide direction in installations, layout modifications and repairs.
