PSEA is a professional education association/labor organization representing 178,000 members with an opening for Researcher based in Harrisburg, PA. The responsibilities of this position include strategizing and recommending Association positions regarding education funding and school finance reform issues (including taxation); assessing the financial condition of school districts to support bargaining; analyzing the impacts on LEA finances of changes in state revenue streams; developing and delivering expert testimony at fact-finding and arbitration proceedings. Important support responsibilities include conducting quantitative statistical analysis, analyzing all education funding related legislation for impact on employee pay and public education, and overseeing and coordinating the maintenance of databases and information support systems.

Ideal candidates will possess a master's degree in Finance, Economics, Industrial Relations, Statistics, or a relevant field of study. Candidates will be considered if they can demonstrate high levels of quantitative and statistical skills including experience analyzing large, complex datasets. The position also requires excellent computer knowledge (proficiency with statistical packages is a plus), quantitative skills, and strong written and verbal skills.
