We are recruiting for a career service Capital Project Manager III or IV Architect to join our highly productive, customer focused Capital Project Management Team that provides excellent customer services to all King County residents and park users.
In this role, you will manage capital projects and provide architectural expertise in planning, design, permitting, and construction of both horizontal and vertical capital building and facility construction projects of varying size and complexity. You will also act as a licensed Parks Architect, stamping documents as necessary.

Telecommuting Requirement
The work associated with this position will be performed predominantly by telecommuting, with occasional onsite work and meetings, as influenced by business needs. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities.
Employees must reside in WA state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection (access may be supplemented in some situations) where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required by the department in alignment with the Public Health Directive from the Seattle & King County Public Health Officer. Work Schedule: This position is exempt from the overtime provision of the Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) and is not overtime eligible. This full-time position works a 40-hour work week.

A current Washington Driver License (or ability to obtain one upon hire), or alternative ability to travel in a timely manner to various locations including to sites which may not be served by public transportation.
License/Certification:
At the time of appointment, the selected candidate must possess a valid Registration as Professional Architect in Washington State, or possess a valid Registration as Professional Architect in another State AND possess a National Council of Architects Registration Board (NCARB) certificate indicating the candidate’s ability to obtain a reciprocal license in Washington State within six months.

Physical Requirements:
The position requires that the individual visit a variety of project sites including many that may be in pre-design and/or construction phase. This may necessitate the ability to traverse rough terrain or construction sites which generally include unlevel surfaces. It also may require the ability to climb rough grades or ladders including work on raised/lowered platforms that may require appropriate safety gear. Work involves walking moderate distances on even and uneven surfaces in the field year-round in varying weather conditions.
Work Environment:
Work is generally split between a field office environment and working remotely in a home office environment. Field work is required on a regular basis when evaluating contractors’ work performance, project site visits, collaborating with team members, and/or researching construction problems.
