What we are looking for:
• A compassionate, caring, person who understands social determinants of health and has the desire to work with maternal and pediatric clients throughout the pregnancy and maternity cycle.
• An RN who’s passionate about community health and working with underserved populations.
• A clear communicator who is able to build strong relationships with clients and clinic staff.
What you will do:
• Work in collaboration with a care team including physicians, nurses, social workers, and dietitians to assess risk level and develop a care plan with the goal of promoting healthy birth outcomes for First Steps program clients.
• Welcome pregnant women to the clinic by offering the First Steps program, and provide pregnancy education.
• Build relationships, trust with clients, and see the results of the direct positive impact you have made in their lives.
• Work with clients to schedule home, office, or phone visits to carry out health coaching and interventions, and encouraging clients’ active participation in their care plan.
• Perform assessment of newborns during home visits, and provide interventions and health education for prenatal, postpartum, and newborn care.
• Provide education and care where the client learns best; document the care provided and collaborate with the care team during case reviews.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing with course work in public health preferred, Associates Degree in Nursing with two years experience in parent-child nursing.
Experience: Experience in newborn physical exams. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate client needs
Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Current applicable State RN licensure and a current Washington State driver’s license and proof of automobile liability insurance coverage; CPR certification.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required: Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred, must demonstrate the ability to communicate at level 10 on the ALTA language proficiency scale to recieve differential pay. Knowledge of and skill in using therapeutic communication techniques.
