Mission:

 

The System Architect is a Lean-Agile leader who has the technical responsibility for the overall architectural and engineering design of the system. The role will interface with business stakeholders, cross functional teams, and customers to solve problems by defining high-level functional and nonfunctional requirements, analyzing technical trade-offs, determining the major components, and defining the interfaces and collaborations between them. They also validate technology assumptions and evaluate alternatives. The System Architect serves as the primary architectural coach for each team on an Agile Release Train (ART), ensuring that team-led design runs in sync with the product/solution architecture and underlying platform architecture.

 

What you will do:

 

  • Participate in analysis, definition, design and planning of our current and future solutions.
  • Work directly with agile engineering teams from analysis to implementation.
  • Own, develop, review, and enhance design artifacts and documentation.
  • Work with internal customers, program team and stakeholders to establish high-level solution intent and direction.
  • Plan and develop architecture in support of upcoming business features and capabilities.
  • Establish critical nonfunctional requirements at the solution and team level.
  • Focus on efficiency, security, scalability, usability, and cost controls.
  • Apply system thinking, ability to see how parts interact with the whole.
  • Promote team workflows that lead to continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to a highly collaborative, inclusive, and empowered culture across teams.
  • Participate in quarterly, company-wide planning exercises.
  • Interact regularly with business stakeholders, program, and engineering teams about features under development.
  • Participate in design/code reviews.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study. (Master’s Degree preferred)
  • 5+ years in an architect capacity focused on data engineering and building data pipelines.
  • 5+ years of software development experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with complex legacy systems built over many years.
  • 3+ years of application experience designing and implementing data processing solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience with big data architectures, ETL and data modeling.

  • Experience with web-based tools for collaboration and communication.
