POSITION SUMMARY:

This position involves the preparation of aircraft for painting in accordance with company procedures. Assists more experienced painters as directed.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

This position reports to the Paint Shop Forman.

PROMOTIONAL SOURCES:

From: Painter Level C

To: Painter Level B

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Mask aircraft for protection as needed throughout the painting process, including for strip and stripping and for aerodynamic sealer.

Sanding skin and primer.

Polishing bright work.

Operate basic air tools required for paint shop.

Assist other painters with basic duties.

Assist with detailing the aircraft for customer delivery.

Any other duties and tasks as requested or assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent experience and acquainted with the basic functions of an aircraft paint department.

COMMUNICATION ABILITY:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

MATH ABILITY:

This position requires the ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money, weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY:

This position requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

This position requires varied work shifts and overtime as required. Position requires adherence to KING AEROSPACE appearance standards at all times.
