Other information:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related fields or in lieu of degree, at least six years of relevant programming or healthcare technology experience;

DESIRED · Experience in HL7 and interface development is desired.· Experience in software, database, web page, and scripting development is desired.· Experience with PC hardware/software and networking is desired.· Knowledge of SQL Language, Visual Studio.net, ASP, and MS Access is desired.· Training or past experience in basic software and process change control procedures and quality control techniques, database administration and system programming is desired.· Excellent interpersonal communication, writing and documentation skills are desired. Manual and Physical Skill Required: Long periods of sitting and working at the computer. Frequent movement throughout hospital for on site work within other departments. Lifting of computer equipment. Responsibilities:
1. Interface development using HL7, XML, X12 and other standards.

2. Interacts with EMR analysts and software vendors to design, plan, develop, test, and implement interfaces between EMR and ancillary systems.

3. Develops and maintains custom applications utilizing Visual Studio.Net, ASP, Java or other programming languages and software development tools for those specialized projects where system customization tools cannot accommodate user needs.

4. Project management of interface and software development projects.

5. Manages various software applications.

6. Follows all established HIPAA privacy and security regulations to protect patient privacy.

7. Provide technical leadership to other IS Personnel regarding databases and reports.

8. Keep abreast of new technologies and advancements in databases and programming.

9. Documentation of all code and software implementations.

0. Provide new ideas to management that will enhance our software development efforts and operations.

13. Follows established procedures for project control and management to document all modifications to applications databases.

14. Maintains a professional image and reflect the department and hospital’s philosophy of excellence and professionalism in customer service while directly performing the job and at all times while representing the department and the hospital.

15. Performs other duties as assigned.

16. Follows North Oaks Health System compliance programs and federal and state regulatory guidelines.
