General Description
The ExCEL Grant Coordinator for Career and Leadership Development, under the direction of the Title V Project Director, will implement innovative career and leadership development activities for Title V students enrolled in the Education, Business, and Graphic Design (
EBGD
) programs; develop an Alumni Mentor Network (
AMN
) to provide career and leadership development opportunities for Title V students; and establish the Teaching Excellence Network (
TEN
), an enhanced professional development program for faculty and staff. Through
TEN
, the Coordinator will collaborate with content experts to offer workshops on experiential learning, the use of industry-specific technological tools in the Innovation Center and Education Incubator, program assessment, and best practices for improving student success for Hispanic/Latinx and underserved student populations.
Characteristics, Duties, and Responsibilities
· Develop and facilitate career and leadership development activities for
EBGD
students including, but not limited to, workshops, professional connections through the
AMN
, and on-demand skills training through StudentLingo and Emsi SkillsMatch.
· Coordinate with the Union County College Foundation to establish an Alumni Mentor Network that provides students with connections to community professionals in the
EBGD
fields.
· Establish the Teaching Excellence Network (
TEN
) for professional learning opportunities in collaboration with the Title V Project Director.
· Engage grant faculty and staff in the
TEN
professional development workshops focused on experiential learning, data-informed decision-making in program assessment, innovative pedagogy, and best practices for improving student success for Hispanic/Latinx and underserved student populations.
· Collaborate with the Academic Specialists for the
EBGD
programs to facilitate workshops in the ExCEL
UCC
101: College Success courses on financial literacy, career exploration, and industry-specific workplace skills and knowledge.
· Develop a career and leadership workshop series for Hispanic/Latinx students.
· Expand faculty and staff participation in on-demand professional development workshops through the Go2Knowledge online platform.
· Coordinate training workshops for faculty and students on the use of the industry-specific technological tools in the Innovation Center and Education Incubator.
· Facilitate trainings for the ExCEL Leaders and ExCEL tutors regarding technological skills and professionalism for effective customer service.
 · Promote career and leadership development and professional learning workshops through informational sessions, Canvas, social media, class visits, etc.
· Collect data and assess results of workshops and activities. Recommend modifications to existing services based on data-informed decision-making.
· Prepare and submit reports to the Title V ExCEL Project Director, as required. 
· Research and inform project staff/faculty on best practices in career and leadership development for students and professional learning for faculty and staff.
· Coordinate with ExCEL staff and ExCEL faculty to assess technologies in the Innovation Center and Education Incubator and recommend upgrades, as needed.
· Collaborate with the ExCEL staff, ExCEL faculty, and ExCEL Program Advisory Team on student success and retention initiatives.
· Opportunity to teach the ExCEL section of the
UCC
101: College Success course.
· Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required with related experience.
Experience
· Title V Grant,
EOF
, or related cohort-based program experience working directly with students and faculty.
· Bilingual (Spanish/English) 
· Experience facilitating workshops and other professional development learning experiences.
· Knowledge of industry-specific technological tools for
EBGD
programs.
· Proven record of building mentoring programs.
· Experience with learning outcomes assessment.
Competencies and Skills Required
· Commitment to the goal of improving student success for Hispanic/Latinx students.
· Proven ability to manage grant timelines and meet project objectives and goals.
· Problem-solving skills and data analysis experience. 
· Strong interpersonal, communication (written and oral), and presentation skills. 
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
· Knowledge of career development tools.
· Familiarity with Ellucian Colleague, Business Objects, Canvas, and project management tools.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
· This position’s duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled.
· Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
· No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
· Some travel required.
