Coordinator for a full-time role. As a Dietary Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the
Dietary Department’s food preparation, supervising and motivating personnel, and assisting the Dietary
Director with administrative daily duties. This position is vital to maintaining the nutritional
requirements and food quality of our residents and patients.

A day in the life of a Dietary Director includes, but is not limited to, the following duties and
responsibilities:


 Supervises, monitors, collaborates with, and motivates a diverse foodservice team whose
energy, communication, and dedication is valued. Assists with the daily operation of the dining
room and kitchen.


 Types, files, and enters data into a computer, and performs clerical and reporting services
independently or while assisting the Dietary Director. Assists with staff evaluations.
 Monitors tray lines and meals for nutritional accuracy, observing allergen information. Assists
with serving meals, cleaning, sanitizing, and trash disposal as required by business demands.
Temporarily assists other positions during staffing shortages.


 Enforces and follows HACCP procedures and good sanitizing practices.
 Oversees and assists with preparing the staff schedule, and assists with processing time cards.
 Acts as a department representative and assists with health department inspections. Assures
compliance and follows-up to ensure deficiencies are immediately corrected.

 Assists with planning and implementing menus in accordance with nutritional guidelines
provided by the Dietary Director.
 Oversees quality assurance programs, such as inspecting and sampling food quality, portion
control, temperature, and meal appearance.
 Prepares and maintains inventory lists, and checks in orders. Helps develop and monitor
inventory controls, ensures inventory is rotated, and regularly audits inventory on hand.
 Maintains nutritional supplement labels, juice labels, and labels for resident’s special food
preferences. Inputs resident information into the facility’s tray card program, maintains tray
card lists for dietary staff, and follow’s the Department’s tray card program procedures and
inputs resident information.
 Minimizes food waste by using proper food storage and food recycling techniques.
 Onboards and trains new employees.
 Practices positive resident relations, uses proper etiquette, and displays a patient, tactful,
enthusiastic, and cheerful disposition when conducting work and/or dealing with our resident
population. Responds promptly to resident requests.
 Promotes a culture of safety, compliance, and ethics. Oversees and enforces proper sanitation
procedures and ensures the facility’s safety policies are observed.
 Is available to work overtime as needed and on occasional weekends.


Required qualifications:
 Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
 Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
 Minimum one (1) year experience and/or training in a supervisory or management role in a
foodservice environment. Experience in acute care or long-term care facilities preferred, but
not required.
 ServSafe certified.
 MS Word and Excel proficiency.
 Reliable transportation.
 Able to read, speak, understand, and communicate in the English language.
 Compassionate and customer service-oriented attitude.
 Holiday work may be required.


Shift: Mon-Fri., 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Must be available to work occasional overtime as needed and
occasional weekends.
