The Life of an HCA Nurse

The Bone Marrow Transplant Supervisor facilitates and coordinates the evaluation of potential transplant candidates. They also advocate on behalf of the patient, communicate with all appropriate team members and with the patient and family where appropriate, and serve as a resource for all clinicians caring for the patient. 

 About the Inpatient Bone Marrow Transplant Unit:

• 16-bed state-of-the-art BMT Unit
• HCAs Blood Cancer Program offers RN Coordinators the opportunity to partner with the nation-wide Sarah Cannon Transplant & Cellular Therapy Network!
• Opportunity to guide patients throughout the entire transplant process from pre-transplant workups to post transplant care
• Teamwork! Cancer Center leadership and staff are supportive, positive, engaged
• Patient safety and satisfaction is our number one priority 

Responsibilities:

Under the general direction of the Director, Manager or Nurse Manager,  Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates and provides patient care and assumes individual responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care. 

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing    
• Current Louisiana or Compact license required
• Bachelors of Nursing degree required
• BLS certification required at hire and maintained
• Prior blood cancer and transplant experience preferred
• ONS & OCN Certification preferred
