Taconic, a global leader in the manufacturing of PTFE coated fiberglass fabric, belts and tapes has the following opportunities available in our Corporate Office in Petersburgh, NY: Quality Lab Technician 2nd Shift Responsible for testing, data management and reporting of test data of production samples and general test equipment maintenance. HS diploma or equivalent experience. Must have good attention to detail with ability to understand and interpret product specifications, work instructions and drawings. Ability to operate and understand dimensional, electrical and mechanical test equipment such as micrometer, two fluid cell, peel tester, FSR, strip line testing equipment, tensile tester, dielectric tester, weight scales, etc. Basic math skills and computer familiarity necessary, with the ability to work with spreadsheets a must. Ability to work with chemicals is required. Should have a fundamental understanding of Taconic's product line. Must be able to work well with others and prioritize based on changing work conditions. Customer Service 1st Shift Answer phones in a professional manner; take, expedite, price and respond to specific customer needs regarding placement of orders, samples, quotes, technical data, and product recommendations. High school diploma or equivalent experience. One year of previous customer service/sales experience required. Must have a friendly and courteous telephone manner with the ability to prioritize based on changing work conditions. Must have basic math skills with ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide as well develop percentage mark-ups and profit margins. PC literate with experience with MS Office preferred. Good organizational and communication skills along with attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
