The Town of Manchester, Vermont (population 4,300; 42.67 square miles) seeks Director of Accounting and Finance and Superintendent of Water and Sewer Departments. Manchester is a picturesque town in the Battenkill River valley between Bennington and Rutland in the heart of the Green Mountain National Forest and near three ski resorts. The Town is home of a strong economy and civic culture, local and national retail stores, countless restaurants, cultural and recreational attractions and the famed Equinox Hotel and the historic home of Robert Todd Lincoln. Director of Accounting and Finance: Director is a management level, department head position reporting directly to the Town Manager. The position of Director requires management level skills, knowledge and abilities; including extensive knowledge of fund accounting, government finance, and general management/administration. The Director of Accounting and Finance manages 20 plus funds and a 30 million dollar budget. At least 10 years of overall related professional experience required, with 5 years of experience in a management capacity preferred. Ideally, candidates shall have earned a bachelor's degree in a related field (accounting, finance, business or administration). Professional credentials (CPA, CFP, CFA, etc.) and/or master's degree viewed favorably. Includes an overlap of up to 8 months with existing Director of Accounting and Finance for training.

Superintendent of Water and Sewer Departments: Superintendent is a management level, department head position reporting directly to the Town Manager. The Superintendent of the Water and Sewer Department is responsible for the administration of the Water and Sewer staff and programs pertaining to the construction, maintenance, and operation of the Town's water and sewer systems. The Superintendent is directly responsible for water main maintenance, sewer inspection program to include the day-to-day operations and regulatory reports. There are approximately 1600 water and sewer connections with an annual budget of over 1.3 million dollars. Salary for both positions based on experience and qualification and include an attractive benefit package.
