Yamhill County has one regular full-time position for a communicable disease investigator to perform investigations, contact tracing, counseling, and educational work in the enforcement of public health laws, rules and regulations that govern HIV disease, sexually transmitted infections, tuberculosis, and other communicable diseases, and to perform related work.

This position is eligible for hybrid work with some on-site requirements. 

The Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in social sciences, community health, health administration, or related field is required in addition to experience working with the public, conducting health related field investigations, community outreach, or case management. Any satisfactory combination of experience and training which ensures the ability to perform the work may substitute for the above. Preference will be given to applicants with experience working with various socioeconomic groups performing counseling or health education services and working with communicable diseases or epidemiological data related to communicable diseases.
 
Special Requirements:
The State of Oregon requires all Health Services and Clinic employees to complete their COVID-19 vaccination series or have an approved exemption to the requirement due to a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief. Successful candidates for this position must submit vaccination documentation or be approved for an exemption prior to their first day of employment. Failure to provide proof of full documentation or receipt of an approved exemption will lead to withdrawal of the job offer.
 
The Candidate:
The successful candidate will have experience working in a medical field, doing case investigation work and/or interviewing or counseling clients on sensitive topics in addition to excellent skills in organization, paperwork management, and communication – both verbally and in writing. The candidate will also have typing and computer proficiency and will be dependable, organized, self-directed, detail-oriented, and possess the ability to interact with coworkers, clients, and the public in a courteous, professional manner.
