This dynamic team is looking for an action-oriented Desktop Support Specialist, who can hit the ground running, is an effective troubleshooter skilled in application installations and upgrades and process improvement to support the entire Legislative Branch and King County Flood Control District.
This position requires a self-starter who can be trusted to maintain confidentiality, who has experience working with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds, installing, configuring and testing new applications, upgrading and installing network user desktops and a variety of support and maintenance of the Council’s network and services.
The successful candidate will be proficient using and supporting Microsoft services and software; have a strong sense of teamwork; an active listener who pays attention to the client’s needs and strives to understand how individual pieces fit into the overall goals of the organization. All Legislative Branch staff must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination to Council HR staff by December 2, 2021. If hired, you will be required to submit proof of vaccination by December 2, 2021 or upon hire. People are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose in a two-dose series or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine. Work location: This position is located in the King County Courthouse, 516 Third Avenue, Seattle WA 98104. During the COVID-19 emergency, some temporary teleworking may be possible, depending upon the Council’s operational needs.
Work schedule: This is a full-time position working 35 hours per week. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Variations from those hours may occur, including early mornings, evenings and weekends as needed. This position is hourly position and is overtime eligible.
