The Sierra County Treasurer-Tax Collectors Office is establishing an eligibility list for the above position to immediately fill one vacancy. This position provides day-to-day working level activities over a variety of County-wide accounting, financial, and clerical support functions.

Qualifications:

This job is an entry level position in the Treasurer – Tax Collectors Office. The position deals with the public and other County staff on a daily basis. The office is responsible for collecting and investing the County, Schools, and Special Districts money; collecting property taxes and other funds owed the County. The successful candidate would possess a combination of related education and experience in clerical, bookkeeping, banking and office support. Associates degree in business or related field with a concentration in accounting, or related subjects helpful. Additionally, substantial related work experience in business or government in accounting, bookkeeping and technical support. Desirable special skills: Attention to detail. Computer applications related to working in an accounting office such as Excel, Word, accounting software. Business math, including financial analysis techniques. Record management, ability to engage with a variety of individuals from the public, and other staff. Proficiency with office machinery: ten key, photo copiers, computer, phone, etc. desired.
