QUALITY INSPECTOR/TECHNICIAN
Comar, a national manufacturer of plastic solutions for the Medical, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Home Care, and Food and Beverage industry seeks a Quality Technician for their Hoschton, GA facility. The candidate must be adept with HACCP and/or other food safety risk assessment. This opportunity holds a 12 hour shift schedule 7am - 7pm and flexibility to work every other weekend. PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Calibrates equipment. Coordinates service with calibration suppliers and maintains records. Sets up and maintains the Statistical Process Control (SPC) system. Manages quality document control. Performs Quality Inspector duties as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

-Calibrate equipment and coordinate service with calibration suppliers.
-Maintain Calibration Records.
-Set up and maintain SPC (Statistical Process Control) data collection system.
-Manage Quality Documents Control as applicable.
-Perform Quality Inspector duties and fill-in as necessary in event of absence or shortage of staff, including: First Article, Incoming, In-Process, and Final Release Inspection/Testing; Control of Non-Conforming Product; Control Plan Audit; Verification of proper testing and reactions to results.
-Follow all plant safety guidelines and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
-Associate’s degree high preferable.
-Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience and/or training in quality inspection.
-Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office platforms.
-Previous experience using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments applicable to the quality arena.
-Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools and techniques.
-Knowledge of Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (Gauge R&R)

SKILLS – ABILITIES:
-Must be able to demonstrate the ability to make sound decisions and work proficiently in a fast pace environment.
-Critical thinker – Problem Solver in order to troubleshoot and diagnose measurement system errors
-Excellent analytical skills – must be able to read, write, and/or interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
-Ability to actively engage an audience through dynamic oral and written communication channels
-Basic mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, commons fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percentage.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
-Must have physical stamina to walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit or lift up to 25 pounds.
-Specific vision capabilities: close, color, and peripheral vision. Depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires the use of hearing protection
