Job Summary

Under limited supervision, design, implement, and maintain Spectrum Health System salary administration programs for the largest and most complex entities to ensure equitable and competitive pay programs. Assist in developing complex compensation programs and policies including incentive and executive pay.

Essential Functions

  • Analyze and evaluate non-exempt and exempt jobs on request to determine appropriate grade, titling, and exemption status. Review evaluation request forms, job descriptions, organizational charts; examine internal equity issues; conduct market analysis to price jobs utilizing published market surveys; and resolve compensation related issues with entity HR Manager and Generalists.
  • Develop and modify compensation programs, policies, and procedures by conducting statistical and logical analysis of complex data utilizing existing and self-developed computer models and other analysis techniques. Prepare proposals/recommendations based on results.
  • Communicate compensation policies and counsel entity managers to resolve complex issues. Anticipate customer needs and manage the provision of services to all customers. Responds to requests for services, information, records, and data on a timely basis.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the conversion/merger of the largest entities into organization salary administration programs utilizing project management tools and leadership skills. Meet with entity HR Managers to communicate salary administration programs, policies and procedures and to match positions; analyze local market salary data; prepare detailed cost analysis as appropriate. Analyze a variety of data and participate in meetings with entity senior management to discuss related issues.
  • Compile compensation data for submission to local, regional, and national salary surveys. Analyze information to determine the organization's competitive position. Data analyzed is relevant, accurate and presented in a timely manner to determine national, regional and local market competitiveness and market trends.
  • Assist in administering the annual pay program process by reviewing planning sheets submitted by management to ensure compliance with program guidelines within established timeline. Develops various analyses to ensure overall consistently across all departments and to ensure adherence to compensation philosophy.
  • Act as project leader on special projects as assigned utilizing project management skills and technical computer skills to ensure all project activity is completed in an accurate timely manner. Includes annual salary planning process, incentive plan administration, executive pay programs, and compensation training programs.
  • Assist in developing and modifying incentive programs for various employee groups. Determine performance criteria, target thresholds, and incentive payout schedules; prepare analysis of potential costs and make recommendations to managers as requested.

Qualifications
  • Required Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5 years of relevant experience related field Required
  • CRT-Professional Compensation Officer, Certified (CPCO) - UNKNOWN Unknown preferred
