Southwest Publishing and Mailing is seeking a Data Programmer in Topeka, KS.

Job responsibilities include:

• Learning various aspects of the printing and mailing industry.
• Read and follow job processing instructions.
• Analyze client data.
• Convert and manipulate data in various formats including Access, Excel, comma-delimited, and fixed length.
• Process data files using third party and in-house applications.
• Create forms for variable data printing in GMC/Quadient Inspire Designer.
• Write scripts using C++ syntax to perform various data operations.
• Use various software tools to sort and prepare data for printing.
• Work closely with production staff and customer service teams.
• Handle all aspects of data processing and workflow management.
• Perform quality assurance checks for all work.
• Serve as technical support for all projects worked on.

 Desired skills:

• Working knowledge of Access, Excel, Word and Adobe.
• Proficiency working in a Microsoft Windows environment.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills.
• Highly motivated and have a strong commitment to quality.
• Ability to plan and prioritize projects.
• Ability to work alone as well as in a team environment.
• Experience with VB.Net or C++.
• Experience with Anchor Software or GMC/Quadient Inspire is a plus.

 Hours are Monday – Friday, 7:00AM – 4:00PM. Must be able to work overtime as needed.

On the job training will be provided to teach key mailing industry concepts.
