Channel and Product Marketing Manager

 

Job Summary

 

Moultrie Mobile is looking for a talented Channel and Product Marketing Manager.  This role is responsible for directing all product and channel marketing activities. As a key member in the Moultrie Mobile marketing organization, this person will be a critical driver in synthesizing consumer, product, and market information to create and drive robust product introductions and sustainable sales, as well as exploring new channel opportunities.  This person will be responsible for driving our go-to-market strategy to bring our product to life.  The Manager will lead creation of sales enablement tools and coordinate training programs for internal and external stakeholders. S/He will partner with the product team to plan product launches and the commercial team to effectively communicate product benefits.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent problem solving, analytical, communication, and product positioning skills, thrive in an ambiguous environment, and drive impact across teams.

 

  • Key point of contact to manage the launch of major product marketing initiatives
  • Works in conjunction with VP of Sales to establish retail POP programs and leads creative development and delivery logistics
  • Analyze market trends and collaborate with Digital Marketing leader to recommend changes to DTC marketing strategy, retail partner sales and/or other product strategies
  • Collaborate with Brand Lead and creative marketing team to develop marketing and promotional materials
  • Partner with Brand to develop and execute market communication plans for new service program and product launches
  • Partner with VP of Sales to propose and manage end user retail promotions and collaborate with Digital Lead to minimize channel conflict with DTC.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Create, own and execute go-to-market strategy for Moultrie Mobile new products.
  • Proactively manage customer facing product introduction details in collaborate with Product team.
  • In collaboration with Sales, define and drive channel marketing strategies and programs that meet marketing objectives, measuring performance.
  • Support channel partners with communications materials such as displays, advertising, and product training.
  • Regularly assess and report on performance and effectiveness of current channels and collaborate with sales to identify growth strategies.
  • Partner with sales to develop and execute regional retail programs and initiatives.
  • Keep current on market trends, industry standards, competitors and customers; using the acquired insights to influence product pricing, packaging, competitive responses, and development decisions along the product’s roadmap.
  • In collaboration with Brand, create clear value props, messaging, and positioning for product lines and target segments to maximize sales and strengthen competitive positioning.
  • Partner with Brand to create collateral and graphics and other support for tradeshows; attend trade shows and other promotional events to promote partner programs.

Reporting

  • Establish KPI targets across all sales channels, analyze and report results, as well as recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage channel marketing budgets and track sales and revenue growth.

Sales Partners

  • Co-lead with sales, a joint partner planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones associated with a productive partner relationship
  • Serve as the key link between sales team and marketing department
  • Test and learn to maximize value of relationships with sales partners
  • Identify opportunities to grow sales channel
  • Monitor and report out on market, channel, and customer trends to identify opportunities and risks.

 

Job Requirements

 

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of professional channel marketing/Product marketing experience with expert understanding on sales and marketing interdependencies and opportunities.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Communication. Be fluent in our product, customers and end markets and able to translate key product specs and differentiators into a compelling and effective message applied across all aspects of sales and marketing.
  • Urgency. Be results driven. This isn’t about checking the box – you are not satisfied unless and until the product is successful in the market.
  • Organized, detail and deadline-oriented, self-motivated, with the ability to easily transition between multiple tasks and problem solving.  This is not a project management role.
  • Proactive, problem solving, self-starter with the ability to work independently with little oversight
  • Learning. Be a quick study. Rapidly get up to speed on new products, target segments, and customers.
  • Developing thought-leader with a knack for analytics and identifying emerging trends, anticipate changes and suggest next moves. Must love data, testing
  • Proven experience managing product launches (idea to retail shelf), determining product-market fit, and relevant activities, including providing guidance for developing content for blogs, marketing, and press relations.
  • Outdoors enthusiast who has industry experience or is knowledgeable about hunting
  • Knowledge of sales channels, selling cadence and retail practices.
  • 2+ years professional experience in subscription-based business; able to speak to this area
  • Knowledge of past, current, and upcoming trends in hunting, outdoor and other relevant industries.
  • Excellent process and organization skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and fast paced environment.
  • Possess effective project management, strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively work and collaborate remotely across multiple time zones
  • Possess basic knowledge of key business measures --sales, gross margin, OM, etc.
  • The ability to manage a budget for promotions, merchandising, trade shows and advertising
  • Possess strong multi-tasking ability as well as ability to manage deadlines in a dynamic, fast paced work environment
  • Possess a highly comfortable level for delivering presentations in a small/large group setting internally/externally as well as to all levels of an organization.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving ability: synthesize findings from analysis and draw conclusions.
