Seton Hill University seeks applications for an Assistant Registrar.  The start date for this position is January 1, 2024.  Chartered in 1918, Seton Hill University is a leading Catholic coeducational liberal arts university founded by the Sisters of Charity and embracing students of all faiths. The Assistant Registrar will provide support in the maintenance of academic records and the evaluation of academic credit.  The incumbent will be expected to operate with precision and efficiency while delivering first-class customer service.  This position reports to the Registrar.

Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Evaluate prospective students’ prior transcripts and other forms of credit for acceptance into a Seton Hill University degree program. 
  • Create and maintain transfer guides for students matriculating from 2-year institutions. 
  • Maintain and review articulation agreements held with other institutions in the area.
  • Perform degree audit system maintenance and ensure accuracy of degree requirements in order to provide students a clear pathway to graduation.
  • Serve as School Certifying Official (SCO) for certification of veteran student enrollment to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). 
  • Fulfill transcript requests through the National Student Clearinghouse. 
  • Maintain fluency and compliance with FERPA regulations, Seton Hill University policies, AACRAO best practices, and industry trends related to transfer and articulation.
  • Assist members of the Registrar team with other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Three years of experience in a higher education setting.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills and a very high attention to detail.
  • Ability to create and maintain complex records and files.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple offices and individuals to solve problems.
  • Impeccable customer service orientation.
  • Eagerness to contribute to the Catholic, Setonian mission and identity of Seton Hill University.

Prior experience in a registrar or admissions office and familiarity with Jenzabar One or Jenzabar EX preferred.

Graphic Designer

Seton Hill University seeks qualified applicants for the full-time position of Graphic Designer within the Office of Institutional Advancement (IA). The Graphic Designer manages IA design projects to support development, communications and alumni relations goals and creates and develops materials for community and overall visibility and awareness building for Seton Hill University. This position designs two major publications, the Forward magazine (spring issue) and the Forward/Honor Roll of Donors (fall issue) for IA; both publications are sent to alumni, donors and friends of Seton Hill. The Graphic Designer serves as a liaison to select vendors and assists the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, the Associate Vice Presidents, and the Director of Communications and Media Relations with the development of IA fundraising, alumni relations, advertising, event, media relations and communications materials and projects.

The Graphic Designer works closely with the Director of Communications and Media Relations and the Senior Writer for Advancement to provide materials (e.g. magazines, special publications, specialty logos, ads, postcards, pamphlets, programs, invitations, brochures, digital marketing pieces, video and social media graphics, motion graphics, etc.) annual fund, capital campaign, alumni relations, and general visibility pieces to alumni, friend, and donor audiences. The Graphic Designer is responsible for overall project management as well as print production and following the University Style Guide.

Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and project management experience. Previous work in higher education or the nonprofit sector is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Candidate must be proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, etc.), along with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the Google Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive). Skills in animation, illustration, photography and/or video are a benefit to this position. Travel outside the University environment for regional conferences may be required.

The Director of Communications and Media Relations supervises the Graphic Designer. This position works in a cooperative relationship with all members of the IA staff to meet the needs of the department.

Metadata and E-Resource Management Librarian

Seton Hill University seeks qualified applicants for the full-time position of Metadata and E-Resource Management Librarian beginning July 1, 2024.   

The Metadata and E-Resource Management Librarian will plan, coordinate, and evaluate the library’s cataloging and metadata processes, and provide original and enhanced copy cataloging for materials in all formats. This position will serve as primary administrator for the library’s electronic resources and work to resolve access and holdings issues. The Metadata and E-Resource Management Librarian will demonstrate successful teaching methods to assist students in developing proficiency in information fluency. The incumbent will manage and be responsible for all library operations during assigned evening hours and must make decisions regarding the interpretation and application of policies and procedures.

Candidate must possess a Master's Degree in Library Science or Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution or equivalent. Experience with library cataloging and major library automation systems is required. Candidate must have strong analytical skills and knowledge of MARC, RDA, library classification (preferably Dewey Decimal), and emerging information technologies. This position requires an understanding of information fluency and the ability to teach the topic as well as to assess students’ levels of competence. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, in person and by telephone, and must be able to travel within the University community.
