Position Available:  CASA (Center for Awareness of Sexual Assault) Victim Services Coordinator

The person in this position is an employee of the Family Support Center, a community-based agency, while the activities of the job are located primarily on the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire Campus. Family Support Center (FSC) is a not- for- profit anti-violence agency focusing on domestic and sexual violence and child abuse prevention in the Chippewa Valley. The CASA Victim Services Coordinator position has the primary responsibility to promote the safety, resilience and healing of sexual assault survivors in Eau Claire, mainly students at UWEC.  The position provides supportive counseling to survivors and advocacy for interactions with various university offices, city and county law enforcement, prosecutors and the court system.    This position also engages in extensive outreach within UWEC to facilitate participant referrals and ensure that survivors are aware of our services. Outreach includes training University staff on responding to sexual assault. The position is 40 hours per week plus occasional weekend on-call shifts. The hourly wage scale for this position is $14.80 - $22.00 plus stipends for on-call shifts. Benefits include health insurance, vacation, and sick leave.

Qualifications:  The ideal candidate will have experience providing services to people who have experienced trauma; experience working with people in crisis; knowledge and understanding of sexual assault and domestic violence; experience providing services to diverse populations; strong communication skills; and the ability to work as part of a team. A Bachelor’s Degree in Gender and Sexuality Studies, Social Work, Psychology or other related field is considered a plus.  Equivalent experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
