Work Schedule Summary | Approximately 10 hours per week in any given academic term. Flexible depending on school schedule. **This position will start Fall 2024. The Purpose of U Reinforcing Educational Assets & Coaching with Human Diversity (UReach): At the University of Utah, we endeavor to combine the efforts of social connectedness, coaching around executive function skills and connection to campus and community resources, for a unique benefit to neurodivergent students, through the UReach Peer Mentor program. We aim to support students in an effort to hold true to the fidelity of commitment to journey with them towards success in degree attainment, personal growth, and career preparation.
Overall Function: UReach Peer Mentors will support neurodivergent students in a variety of ways. Most specifically, Peer Mentors will support neurodivergent students in bolstering executive function skills, connecting to campus opportunities and resources, and the continued development of self-reliance, self-determination, and self-advocacy skills for the college environment and beyond. This position in-person the week of August 12, 2024. Some training will be required over the summer but can be done virtually. This position will be in person on campus.
