We are seeking a highly-motivated System Architect who will become part of the EBSCO software development team. You will play an integral role supporting and guiding teams responsible for the internal products used by the sales and order processing teams within EBSCO. Your work will contribute to the growth of EBSCO by providing top notch software for the internal business systems teams and you will be able to make significant technical and business impact.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and develop IT architecture (integrated process, applications, data, and technology) solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards.
  • Perform technical planning, architecture development, and modification of specifications.
  • Develop specifications for new products/services, applications, and service offerings.
  • Assesses the compatibility and integration of standard products/services to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies. 
  • Partner with engineering teams, product managers, and technical managers to plan and implement roadmaps for products/services.
  • Drive alignment on the department’s long-range plans and support the migration between legacy and modern cloud-based architectures.
  • Participate in and contribute to architecture design reviews and CoPs.

 

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience in production environments, with distributed applications.
  • 4+ years of experience architecting/designing/developing Java based solutions with frameworks like Spring Boot, Hibernate, React, etc.
  • Ability to write high-quality code in Java that addresses real-world engineering problems.
  • Knowledge of the AWS services, with 1+ years’ experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS.
  • Understanding of cloud native design, and containerized technologies.  
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.
