Enter and validate medical, demographic, insurance, financial, and business data in a timely and courteous manner in appropriate systems to ensure master patient index integrity and creation of an accurate appointment or encounter and claim, Explain pre-appointment clinical preparation requirements such as fasting and fluid consumption, Provide patient education about third party coverage and liabilities, communicate possible payment options and personally connect patients to a financial counselor if needed, Collect, post, and balance co-pays, deductibles and other patient payments, Identify and communicate the need for interpreter services and handle a wide variety of patient inquiries regarding physicians, services and logistics to ensure access to care with maximum throughput and minimal delay. Maintains expertise in PAS legal and compliance requirements, incorporates principles into workflows, Recruits and trains patients to access My UH Care Personal Health Record, Ensures achievement of productivity and quality standards, Maintains up to date knowledge of computer systems, insurance and government regulations and UH PAS policies and procedures used within the department, Promotes collaboration and call center success, Functions as an integrated team member and works collaboratively with other staff and providers across the system to improve patient experience and department efficiency, Actively participates in UH emergency preparedness, Maintains a clean and organized work area, Will be cross trained to perform other duties as assigned, May be scheduled to work at offsite.

High School Equivalent / GED 1-3 years of experience Degree or progress towards degree preferred. A bachelor degree will be accepted in lieu of 1 year of work experience.
