Route / Technician for Window Coverings - FT (non-exempt) Hourly $14.00 - $16.00 DOE

The Route / Technician is responsible for picking up, delivering and installing both cleaned and new blinds and drapes in a timely and professional manner to provide exceptional customer service and help secure additional business.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

• Efficiently delivers and installs both new and reconditioned blinds and drapes in a proper, efficient and timely manner with a good geographical knowledge of the assigned route area
• Interacts with customers to ensure satisfaction with the job and promote both new and repeat business
• Determine if customers’ blinds and drapes can be cleaned, repaired, or if they need to be replaced
• Properly measure for window coverings, rods, and other hardware
• Upon job completion, verify everything is done correctly, and area is clean and free of debris
• Maintains a clean, organized and properly stocked company vehicle, promptly reporting any maintenance needs or mechanical problems
• Follows all company procedures and order instructions to ensure customer satisfaction
• Learns the window covering business and understands various forms, work orders, paperwork, vendor information and equipment function and use
• Brings any items left over from completed orders to the General Manager or Production Coordinator’s attention.
• Attends and participates in regular meetings and sales training with management and other route drivers, bringing up any concerns and sharing information to grow and improve the business
• Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance
• Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation
• Displays excellent communication skills required in working with customers and coworkers including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure
• Respectfully takes direction from manager

Education and Experience Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with good driving record
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred, but not required.
• Has basic computer job skills, ability to communicate by email, ability to compose documents, enter database information, download forms, and backup important data.
• Ability to take accurate measurements using tape measure
• Use hand tools such as drill, and able to climb ladder
