Family Physician

At the direction of the Medical Director, the Family Practice Physician is responsible for all services required by the patient except when emergency circumstances preclude the Family Practice Physician's role. The Family Practice Physician's services are professional and personal, and his/her responsibility continuous. The scope of the responsibility is comprehensive (i.e., all required services, including preventive services.) Participates as a member of the Medical Team.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Any and all duties as assigned by the Medical Director, up to and including:

  • Provides consultation services; these include advice received from a telephone discussion with a specialist and may result in the referral of a patient to a specialist for services.
  • Coordinates all services, not only his/her own, but also services by specialists when care by one or more specialists is required.
  • Works as a member of the Medical Team comprised of (2) Family Physicians, (2) Physician Assistants, (2) Pediatricians (1 part-time), (2) Registered Nurses, (1) LVN, (7) Medical Assistants, including (1) assigned MA with (1) additional float MA, plus support staff to include front desk reception, medical records, referrals, IT, finance, etc.
  • Utilizes spirometry, EKG, ultrasound, and dermatoscope machines for point-of-care use and as needed.
  • Collaborates with internal Dental and Behavioral Health Departments for integrated care.
  • Utilizes phone interpreter services as needed (e.g., Spanish, Arabic, Korean languages).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Pediatrician

The Pediatrician's services are professional and personal, and his/her responsibility continuous. The scope of the responsibility is comprehensive (i.e., all required services, including preventive services.) Participates as a member of the Medical Team.

  • Performs physicals and well-child exams and same-day sick visits daily; medical equipment and technology available for use include spirometer, dermatoscope, and EKG and ultrasound machines.
  • Collaborates with internal Dental and Behavioral Health Departments for integrated care.
  • Utilizes phone interpreter services as needed (e.g., Spanish, Arabic, Korean languages).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Both Positions:

  • Must possess unrestricted current licensure to practice medicine in the State of California as issued through the Medical Board of California.
  • American Board-eligible or certified Family Practice Medicine or Pediatrics.
  • Possession of a current valid CPR certification.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and to a diverse audience.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Possess a warm, caring attitude.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with culturally diverse communities, including the ability to relate to and understand the special and specific needs of Native Americans.
  • Ability to assist a patient in distress.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • English-Spanish bilingual skills is highly desirable.
  • Basic proficiency with computers, including EHR systems, and Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Outlook.
  • Willingness to receive continuing education training (some travel required).
  • Native American preferred.
