The Solid Waste Division (SWD) of the King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks (DNRP) is inviting applications for a Capital Project Manager II (CPM II) position. This Term Limited Temporary (TLT) position in the Project Management Office is expected to last one year with the possibility of extension. The primary responsibility of the CPM II is to successfully plan, implement, monitor, and control SWD projects by applying Project Management Institute (PMI) methodologies and SWD protocols. This position will be responsible for effectively completing various small to medium size SWD projects and supporting senior staff in major projects such as facility improvement, information technology, and operational capabilities enhancement projects.
The person in this position works generally under supervision by senior staff. This position requires knowledge of project management, project control, and contract administration.
Permanent Teleworking Requirement: The work associated with this position will be performed predominantly by telecommuting, with occasional onsite work and meetings, as influenced by business needs. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in WA state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection (access may be supplemented in some situations) where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required by the department in alignment with the Public Health Directive from the Seattle & King County Public Health Officer. Work Schedule: This position works a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday with some evening and weekend work as required. This position is exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act provisions and is not overtime-eligible.
