Custodian - We're looking for an experienced and dependable person to fill a custodial position from 2:15 pm to 10:45 pm Monday through Friday. $12.00 per hour, retirement plan, paid vacation, sick time and holidays, 100% employer paid health care for employee

Responsibilities include: Floor maintenance including carpet extraction, tile and grout cleaning and occasional stripping and waxing of VCT tiles Cleaning classrooms, restrooms, hallways and offices Working as team member with eight other custodians Event setups Occasional weekend overtime Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and stairs, and have a minimum of two years of custodial experience English/Spanish bilingual is a plus 

Custodian Job Duties:

Works as part of a team to carry out cleaning tasks to ensure standards are maintained

Ensures any repairs noticed during cleaning duties are reported to supervisor in a timely manner

Ensures cleaning tasks assigned by supervisor are carried out in a timely fashion

Utilizes proper training to clean up potentially hazardous materials or contact the appropriate authorities to handle such incidents

Carries out additional or special cleans as instructed by cleaning supervisor

Identifies appropriate cleaning materials and products to sanitise area, disinfect and deodorise according to company standards

Organises cleaning items, disinfectants and other materials kept in storage, as well as cleaning equipment

Maintains accurate logs and records of areas that have been cleaned and schedule of regular cleaning

Uses proper signage to indicate wet flooring or other potentially hazardous situations

Liaises with clients regularly, as well as other team members, supervisor and organisation leadership

Fulfills work order requests in case of cleaning or plumbing emergencies

Regularly empties trash and recycling

Replenishes supplies in washrooms, such as hand soap, paper towels and toilet paper

Follows cleaning routine and schedule as set by supervisor including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, window washing, mirrors, etc.
