The Citrus County Chronicle Community News Coordinator is responsible for collecting, managing, coordinating, editing and tracking publication of community, event calendar, club, and organization news submissions to the Chronicle.

The position requires daily electronic, phone and face-to-face interaction with the public.

The Community News Coordinator performs the following functions:

  • Edits/rewrites copy to ensure it is grammatically correct.
  • Imports photos and stories into an editorial system.
  • Edits, plan content for daily publication.
  • Proofreads news pages.
  • Assists the public with questions.
  • Updates the website and social media.
  • Create news pages for daily publication.

This full-time position requires writing, editing, and some design skills.

A successful candidate must have excellent customer service and organizational skills.

The position requires a minimum two-year associates degree, preferably with an emphasis in mass communication or English.

The Citrus County Chronicle is a daily newspaper with a circulation of 22,000 daily and 25,000 Sundays.
