Job Summary: The Dispatcher for Environmental Services will monitor the bed tracking system, facilitate all daily cleanings, and be responsible for confirmation discharge cleanings, as well as movement of discharge to manage resource manipulation to meet bed need and placement throughout the shift and support hospital wide patient flow by dispatching all service requests. The Dispatcher will ensure compliance with all policies and procedures related to daily and discharge cleanings, ensuring that the Environmental Services team is performing to protocol, addressing concerns promptly, and scheduling job assignments when and where necessary. The Dispatcher will also be responsible for documentation and random sample checks for quality of cleaning. The dispatcher must maintain and create related documents in SUNY systems, for example TMA, Asset works for work orders. Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degree and 3 years of relevant experience (preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting) or equivalent combination of education and experience, plus excellent written/oral communication, organizational, and customer service and computer skills required. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in Environmental Services preferred. A working knowledge of DNV, DOH, NYS Department of Transportation, (NYSDOT) for regulated medical waste and infection control standards as guided by the Center for Disease Control, (CDC), highly desired. Experience in a unionized environment as well as supervisory experience preferred.

Work Days:

Mon thru Friday 5pm to 9pm
