JOB TITLE:                        Account Manager

DEPARTMENT:                  768 – National Sales

 

TOMY International is looking for an Account Manager (AM) to build our brands and achieve sustainable sales growth and profit goals at key accounts across the country. AM will be responsible for building and maintaining industry relationships, planning and forecasting and presenting sales business, and executing sales strategies across both Juvenile Products (Baby) and Toy categories.

TOMY uses a collaborative selling process that requires strong communication and teamwork between customer facing functional groups.  The AM serves as the business leader in this process and is responsible for delivering the annual financial plan.  Our flat organizational structure forces decision making to managers closest to the issue at hand.  We have a decided bias towards informed but rapid decision-making.  Position is based out of one of TOMY’s locations and requires up to 25-30% travel.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Expand POD and shelf space, sell in new items, negotiate pricing and agreements and markdowns, establish trade spend and promotion calendars, and analyze ROI. Help transform these key retailers into strong business partners. Identify opportunities for growth.
  • Cross Functional: Work intimately with Customer Service, Finance, Sales Planning and Marketing to ensure timelines are met for the retailer and that internal deliverables are being completed and meeting key deadlines.
  • Multi-Channel Strategy: Help develop strategy and ensure execution and development of product and positioning for specific channel and customer plans, including assortment, merchandising, price, shelving, and promotions. This includes Brick and Mortar and Ecommerce.
  • Financials + Planning: Set strategy for delivering on financial targets set in annual, monthly and weekly financial process. Manage Markdown and Coop tracking and administration. Allowances for retailers.
  • Customer advocacy: Understand key accounts inside and out, including key customer KPIs/objectives/strategies, and decision-making process/timing. Resolve conflicts and provide timely solutions.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • 6+ years of leadership in a consumer products category with Toy and/or Juvenile products most desirable.
  • Strong understanding and relationship at B&M & Ecommerce retailers
  • Proven track record of delivering strong and sustainable growth
  • Able to work well under pressure with competing priorities
  • Grounded in a fact-based, linear approach to analysis and business presentation / discussion
  • Strong PPT deck building and engaging presenting skills
  • Deep understanding of dissecting industry insights (NPD/IRI) and brand business results
  • BA / BS degree required
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and PowerPoint specifically)
  • Highly motivated, action-oriented and can work well in a global company with many stakeholders; strong work ethic
  • Flexible, hands-on and can adapt quickly
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with all stakeholders
  • High emotional intelligence and self-awareness which encourages positive energy and passion
  • Creative problem-solver and conceptual thinker balanced with the ability to dive into details
  • Resourceful, innovative, forward thinking, and committed
