The Lafourche Parish Government is accepting applications for a part-time, classified position of Pumper to work for the Lafourche Parish Department of Public Works at the Upper and Lower Pointe Au Chene pump stations. 

Operates assigned drainage pump stations on an as-needed basis on all days and at all times except from the hours of 6:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Monday through Thursday. Full-time Parish Public Works Department employees will operate the pump stations as part of their regular job duties between the hours of 6:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Monday through Thursday. Performs job duties on an as-needed basis. Responsible for the operation of the power-driven pumps which accelerate and transfer the rainfall runoff to designated areas so as to reduce the potential for flooding to the extent of station design capabilities.
