As a Digital Discovery Librarian-Content Management Administrator for the LearningExpress division, in New York City, EBSCO is seeking an enthusiastic and service-oriented Digital Discovery Librarian. The successful candidate will be a vital member of the LearningExpress technology team and work with the Content and Development teams to ensure that our content uses controlled vocabularies and standard metadata. They will be responsible for working with library systems and digital content seamlessly integrate with the LearningExpress Content Management System. The incumbent will leverage user experience principles and assessment methodologies to develop searching, browsing, and indexing solutions that will meet the emerging needs of the LearningExpress customer base. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing CMS Admin Tools used to author the e-learning content, provide technical support and product training. As the ideal candidate, you have demonstrated experience managing library systems, working with vendors, and working with content management systems. Diplomatic and collaborative, with superb technology and organizational skills, you excel in team and remote work environments.

 

Primary Responsibilities –

  • Manage the internal LearningExpress Content Management and Metadata System.
  • Advocate on behalf of customers, providing suggestions and feedback regarding product enhancements to improve product quality
  • Provide technical support to internal customers regarding the Content Management System
  • Liaison with EBSCO Information Services Content ART regarding controlled vocabularies, and indexable metadata
  • Provide production demonstrations
  • Work with customers on the integration of the library systems and digital content into the LearningExpress Platform
  • Assist with user research, market research, and usability testing
  • Prepare reports and visualizations by gathering data from databases, spreadsheets, and analytics platforms
  • Assist in planning and development of training material for internal customers

 

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Library and Information Sciences from an ALA-accredited institution
  • 5 years of professional experience providing primary support for an integrated library system or library service platform
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience in working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Knowledge of OpenURL resolvers, proxy services, digital repositories, and interlibrary loans
  • Knowledge of current and emerging standards, formats, and protocols used in library systems, such as MARC, BIBFRAME, OpenURL, KBART, XML, Linked Data and RDF, OAI-PMH, SIP2 and Z39.50 Job 1 of 2
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365   
  • Preferred Qualification: Passionate about EBSCO products
  • Knowledge of Identity Access Management protocols, such as LTI, OpenID Connect, and SAML
  • Experience with Google Analytics, AWS Quicksite, and others
  • Experience in JavaScript, SQL, CSS, and other tools and languages commonly employed in web projects
  • Experience in managing discovery layers such as Encore, Summon, or Primo
  • Experience with administrating CMSs (Drupal, WordPress, Others)
  • Experience with Rally, SharePoint and Confluence
