Job SummaryDelivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.The Adult Nephrology (Dialysis) department has 2 units, one located at the Butterworth campus and one at the Blodgett Campus. The Butterworth units contains 8 treatment bays and the Blodgett unit has 6 treatment bays. Dialysis RNs also float to units such as the ICU and Med Surg to provide bedside treatments which offers variety in their day to day. This team has the rare opportunity to commonly work 1:1 with patients for a more personalized experience. Dialysis RNs are given the chance to acquire a specialized skill in which they can become fluent giving them a unique experience among RNs. There is no experience needed for these roles, all training can be provided during our 12 week orientation process!
