Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• An employee in this position will supervise the work of state inmates
• Operate various special heavy equipment, performing tasks associated with the road department operations, operates a front end loader to load road material or debris for dump trucks, backhoe to dig out ditches and a variety of tractors
• Operates various equipment such as chainsaws, blowers, weed eaters, push mowers, and etc
• Other duties as required
• A background investigation and drug screening will be completed on the selected applicant.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent
• Requires knowledge of Florida traffic laws
• Requires basic understanding of safety procedures; the ability to drive and operate the above-mentioned equipment
• Must possess a valid Florida Commercial Class A Driver's License with a favorable driving record
• Must have the ability to meet the Department of Corrections criteria for certification as a Non-DC Supervisor of State Inmates
