The EMS Assistant Supervisor is the lead EMT-P on the ambulance shift trained to administer prompt and efficient pre-hospital care to the patient at the ALS level.  In addition, he or she is responsible for assisting the field supervisor with daily department operations, will serve as the lead training officer of the shift, and will function as the shift supervisor in the absence of the field supervisor.

GED/High school diploma required.  NREMT-P State of LA EMT-P required.  CPR, Defensive Driving and Hazmat Awareness required.  ACLS within one year of hire required, PALS within 6 months required, CPI within 90 days of hire required, and PHTLS preferred.  Jefferson Parish permit required.  Chauffeur's license or equivalent, if an out-of-state license is presented.  Two (2) years of related experience as an EMT-P required.
