Full-Time Police Officer

 

The Borough of Mt. Oliver is now accepting applications for the position of full-time police officer. Applicants must meet the following requirements prior to application:

 

  • Be at least 21 years of age.

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).

  • Be Act 120 Certified or have successfully completed Act 120 Training and successfully passed the final exam, thus being eligible for Act 120 Certification once hired by the Borough.

  • Be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a Police Officer.

  • Possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.

 

Applications are available at the Borough Building, 150 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh PA, 15210 or can be download from the Borough Website at www.mtoliver.com. The Borough Building is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Completed applications must be turned in to the Borough Secretary during normal business hours by Friday, September 2, 2022. There is no examination fee.

 

The Physical Agility Test will occur on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 9:00 AM at the Allegheny County Police Academy.

 

The Written Examination will occur the same day on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Mt. Oliver Fire Hall, 120 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15210.

 

Other mandatory components of the test are an oral examination, a background check, a medical examination, and a psychological examination. A complete copy of the Borough’s hiring policy, as set forth in its Civil Service Rules, is available for inspection during regular business hours at the Borough Building.
