Electrical Apprenticeship Notice of Apprenticeship Opportunity for the position of Inside Wireman Apprentice This Joint Apprenticeship and Committee (JATC) will be accepting applications for the Inside Wireman (5 years) apprenticeship program online starting on March 8th, 2021 at 7:30 am PST until March 19th, 2021 at 4:30 pm PST. 

To meet minimum qualifications for apprenticeship, applicants must:

1. Complete an application form, accurately responding to all questions.

2. Be a minimum of 17 years-old: no maximum age: Provide a copy of Driver's License, State Issued ID card, Military ID card, Permanent Resident card, Alien Registration Receipt card or U.S. Passport accepted.

3. Education: Provide a copy of State Department of Education Issued Certificate of High School Equivalency, High School Diploma, Associates Degree or Higher.

4. Minimum Math: Provide an official transcript ( electronically transmitted official transcripts must be submitted by the applicant's school via email toapplications@earnwhileyoulearn.org) stating completion of one full year of high school or one semester of post high school algebra or higher course (Pre-Algebra and Intro to Algebra do not count) with a grade of "C" or better and/or Provide a Certification of Completion from the NJATC Tech Math Course.

5. Miscellaneous: Provide a copy of Transcripts from Trade School, College or any other schooling, and Military Discharge Papers (DD-214).

6. Upon receipt of the above documents: Each applicant will be required to take the Aptitude Test prepared by the electrical training ALLIANCE. The applicant will be required to obtain a qualifying score to be eligible for the oral interview.

7. Work Legally in the United States: Each applicant must be able to work legally in the United States and provide a valid social security number. The JATC will not seek to verify authorization to work in the U.S., since that is the responsibility of Employers during on-the-job training, but if the JATC learns that an applicant is not eligible to work and will not be eligible at the time of registration, the JATC may terminate the application.

8. Capabilities & Performance: Each applicant must be capable of completing all requirements of the apprenticeship program and performing the work required of an electrical worker, with or without reasonable accommodations, including being able and willing to: (i.) Safely perform or learn to safely perform the essential functions of the job; (ii.) get to and from work at job sites anywhere within the geographical jurisdiction of this Apprenticeship Program; (iii.) attend and successfully pass all related instruction; (iv.) understand and follow all JATC Rules and Policies; (v.) climb and work from ladders, scaffolds, poles, and towers of various heights; (vi.) push, pull, crawl, crouch, and work in confined spaces such as attics, manholes and crawlspaces, lift 25-50 pound objects on a fairly consistent schedule, and use various hand and power-assisted tools to install conduit, wiring, fixtures, devices, and electrical apparatus within commercial and industrial buildings; (vii.) read, hear, speak and understand instructions and warnings in English.

Some applicants may be qualified for the apprenticeship program based upon military service, industry experience, Job-Corp Training Program or Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program. Applicants who meet all minimum eligibility requirements will be interviewed by the JATC. Apprentices will be selected for possible registration in order of their final ranking. Prior to being registered, all selected applicants (including those admitted through direct entry) will be required to pass a drug test. The cost of the tests is borne by the JATC. If the applicant fails any pre-registration drug test, refuses to take any pre-registration drug test, or has insufficient hair or urine for any pre-registered drug test, each of which constitutes a failed pre-registered drug test, the conditional offer will be revoked.
