Job Description

Summary

We are seeking an experienced RN to add to our 18 bed unit, Cardiology Nephrology team at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital. Each RN is assigned to 3-4 patients per shift.

This flex schedule will allow for 8 or 12 hour shifts, or a mix of both:

• (19:00-07:00 and 23:00-07:00) a mix of 8 and 12 hour shifts

• (2300-0700) five shifts, 8 hours in length
• (19:00 - 07:00) three nights per week

Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree Nursing Required
• Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing must be obtained within 5 years, Required
• Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program, Required
• NURSING\Registered Nurse (RN) State of Michigan, Upon start date, Required
• LIFE SUPPORT\Basic Life Support (BLS) 90 Days, Required
• LIFE SUPPORT\Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) 180 Days, Required

• Pediatric Nursing Experience is strongly preferred
