GECAC in Erie, PA is looking for a Part-Time/Seasonal Math Teacher to work 12 Saturday sessions (2 Saturdays a month) from November 6th, 2021 to April 23rd, 2022, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm Edinboro University.

Under the supervision of the Program Manager of Upward Bound, candidate will develop, implement, instruct and evaluate high school age students on curriculum in the subject area required, including preparing assignments, administering tests, and motivating students of diverse backgrounds.

Bachelor’s Degree in Education in Middle or Secondary Education Math with an active teaching certification is required. Trio Program Alumni and/or background a plus. Must be able to establish and maintain good rapport and professionalism with students and staff. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must possess knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams. The ability to operate a computer in a Windows 10 environment is essential. Familiarity with Zoom, PDF editing software, as well as experience effectively working remotely are desired. Must have enough knowledge to successfully complete the technical skills of the position.

Must be willing to work a flexible schedule of virtual and in-person teaching and be willing to travel to Edinboro University.

Must have current Act 33, 34 & FBI clearances issued within the past year along with a valid PA driver’s license & full-time access to private transportation. Must meet immigration requirements.

Salary: $19.31 – $24.45/hour depending on experience.
