Coordinator Trauma Program -Surgery Trauma Support

Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: M-F

Summary: 

Summary:
Coordinates the overall activities of the trauma program to ensure optimal cost effective patient care. Manages the operational, developmental, and educational aspects of the Trauma Program in conjunction with the Trauma Program Medical Director. Participates in evaluating the quality of care and the Process Improvement Program. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Required:
Registered Nurse with current Ohio licensure
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
3 years clinical experience in a critical care unit (ICU or ED)
Skilled in the provision of trauma care for infant through geriatric patients.
TNCC instructor or obtains within 2 years of hire date
ATLS course coordinator status or obtains within 2 years of hire
Obtains certification from the Continuing Research Education Credit (CREC) Program through Case Western Reserve University within one year of hire.
Current membership in professional nursing/trauma organization and maintains through employment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
This position requires flexibility, the ability to synthesize information in a systems fashion, and the initiative and ability to coordinate program issues in a complex environment

Preferred:
Master’s degree in nursing or other health related field

Physical Demands:
May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.
May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing.
Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
Ability to read job related documents.
Ability to use computer.
