Coordinate:

* Lead and coordinate the following services; medical oncology, radiation oncology, oncology support services, cancer registry and cancer program accreditation
* Participate in committee meetings to establish system wide strategy and tactic to expand the oncology service line, including but not limited to; Cancer Committee, Breast Program Leadership, Lung Steering Committee, Oncology QA, and Hem/Onc Section
* Monitor key performance indicators, benchmarks and scorecards to assure patient satisfaction goals, clinical goals and quality standards are met
* Align and allocate system resources to accomplish strategic initiatives
* Manage complex change while expanding service offerings, improving quality and controlling costs in keeping with the vision and goals of the organization

Leadership/Supervise:

* Lead and provide coaching for employees within the Oncology Service Line: Radiation Oncology staff, , Hematology/Oncology Clinical Manager, Oncology Navigators, Registrars, Social Workers, Dietitians, and Office Manager (Service Line)
* Develop objectives that will improve operational effectiveness across the seven (7) hospital system, and nine (9) outpatient locations, expand ACoS CoC and NAPBC accreditation to additional community hospital locations.
* Collaborate with nine (9) employed oncology physicians and seven (7) nurse practitioners, and the UAB Gyn/Onc clinic.
* Ensure standards of patient care are consistent with professional practice standards develop/collaborate with Medical Director positions
* Promote and enforce departmental compliance with general safety and infection control standards
* Communicate with Pharmacy/Oncology/Radiology administrative and clinical staff to ensure regulatory guidelines are met
* Communicate and with other service lines in implementation of hospital-wide or system-wide projects involving cancer and wellness programs and services
* Collaborate with information services to ensure technology infrastructure can support and enhance customer needs.
* Participate and network with local, state, and national organizations concerned with cancer screening/prevention, informatics, accreditation, and other regulatory bodies
* Develop coordinated approaches with Marketing and the Foundation around community engagement with the goal of raising awareness for screening and early detection

Budget/Financial:

* Provide direction to above 5+ departments in developing and managing personnel, expense, capital and revenue budgets
* Maintains productivity targets
* Develop and implement processes to continually improve operational effectiveness and financial performance within the Service Line
* Develop replacement schedules, manage equipment replacement for Radiation Oncology Linear Accelerators and Simulation equipment including CON submissions when necessary.

Plan and Implement:

* Develop and implement annual goals based on the NMMC Critical Success Factors
* Develop strategic, business, and financial plans for Oncology
* Activities will include business plan development, market research, achieving physician/community buy-in; ensuring patient satisfaction and quality of care standards are achieved

Regulatory:

* Comply with NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines
* Adhere to State/Federal regulatory and accrediting agency policies

Requirements:

* Master's Degree in Business or Health Services Administration or other related field required
* Minimum of 5 years management experience in oncology; clinical or management role in a health care setting preferred
* Experience in budgeting, financial analysis, goal setting, and personnel management preferred
* Experience in an integrated delivery system, oncology service line growth and oncology outreach development preferred
* Ability to work well with physicians, advanced providers, clinical staff and patients required
* Excellent oral and written communication skills required
* Ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals and multidisciplinary teams
* Understanding of physicians' referral relationships with the medical community at-large, and development of programs designed to extend the market share for Oncology and Radiology Services
