GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Loan Portfolio Assistant Manager will be responsible for helping manage the daily activities related to servicing our loan portfolio and facilitating new loan closings and disbursements. The Loan Portfolio Assistant Manager will also be responsible for delivering excellent service to both internal and external clients. This position will also assist lending team/client specialists in working with clients/prospects, including explaining Cornerstone Fund policies and processes, and addressing client questions during the lending process.

 

ESSENTIAL RSPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with all Portfolio Management duties including but not limited to:

  • Maintain accurate and orderly records and files.
  • Track and collect post-closing loan documents including original recorded loan documents and title policies.
  • Obtain and maintain updated evidence of property insurance.
  • Research, prepare and process mortgage satisfactions and partial releases for paid off loans, in a timely manner.
  • Enter, retrieve, and monitor data into loan system, ensuring its integrity.
  • Validate loan information on system with documents in the loan file.
  • Maintain loan document tracking report and other reports.
  • Prepare lending activity reports for management and loan committee per schedule and as needed.
  • Provide weekly reports for loan disbursements, monthly reports for loan approvals/activity, loans closed to date, modifications, and other reports as required.
  • Prepare monthly delinquency report and report deteriorating credit situations in a timely manner.
  • Monitor current account status, including, but not limited to, past due accounts and loans matured. Work with CLO and lending staff to appropriately resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Effectively and continuously monitor portfolio for revenue opportunities and/or loan exposures.
  • Work with clients, CLO and other lending staff to modify and/or restructure existing loans as needed.
  • Participate in the Fund’s ongoing risk rating process.
  • Research and respond to routine and moderately complex correspondence from clients or potential clients, including, but not limited to, payoff requests, statements, billing and general inquiries.
  • Provide ongoing support for the underwriting team.

Assist with Loan Closings/Disbursements:

  • Manage approved loans/renewals/modifications through the closing process.
    • Order required title work, monitor expediency, and resolve outstanding title issues with CLO, title company and CF attorney.
    • Order loan documents, monitor expediency, schedule loan closings.
    • Receive, process, upload and file executed loan documents.
    • Track loan documents sent for recording and ensure timely placement in the Fund’s filing system.
    • Complete all requirements of loan bookings in the Fund’s operating system.
  • Process payments, payoffs and payoff quotes.
  • Process construction and line of credit draw requests.
  • Process and close loans as directed.
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required to perform successfully in this position.

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred.
  • Five to ten years of experience in a bank or lending setting and/or training; or equivalent
  • combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of credit policies and standards and lending and lending policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with financial analysis and loan processing software associated with lending.
  • Formal credit training is a plus.
  • Notary license is required or needs to be obtained within first three (3) months.

 

OTHER:

This position is based in Cleveland, OH and may work from home on a hybrid schedule (part days in office and part days at home - to be determined).
