Job Description
This position is responsible for providing Athletic Turf and Facility Maintenance for Intercollegiate Athletics and other designated Athletic facility events. This position is also responsible for providing oversight to student workers.

Working knowledge of grounds maintenance techniques and equipment. Working knowledge of safety practices as related to grounds maintenance and equipment. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to interpret policies and procedures. Demonstrated ability to use tools to maintain and repair equipment. Demonstrated ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment and operate standard transmission. Demonstrated ability to set-up sites and equipment for special events within specific time frames. Demonstrated ability to give and receive instructions as well as guide the work of others.
Special licenses, registration or certification
Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.

Level and type of experience
Some experience with grounds maintenance. Some experience setting-up and breaking down equipment and facilities.
Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)
Working knowledge of sports turf maintenance techniques and equipment. High School Diploma or equivalent. Some experience supervising staff responsible for grounds and/or sports turf maintenance. Some experience setting-up and breaking down equipment on athletic fields and facilities.
Conditions of Employment
This position requires a valid driver’s license. The selected candidate will be required to provide a valid transcript of your driving record which must be received within 30 days of the accepted offer of employment.

Completed certification or ability to complete within specified amount of time by supervisor a certification to apply pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers, liquid and granular.
