Director, Science & Research at the University of Utah's Department of Human Genetics in SLC: Requires Ph.D. in Biology, and 4 years' experience in conducting biomedical computational algorithm development, software implementation and scientific data analysis; and 2 years in each of the following: designing full stack solutions utilizing modern web application technologies and cloud computing; developing scientific computation software using C++; and using the statistical analysis software R. Demonstrated independent and novel research in the fields of either (1) computational biology method development or (2) bioinformatics with cloud computing, and either (1) cancer genomic and transcriptomic heterogeneity, or (2) cancer evolution; 3 or more peer-reviewed scientific publications; and one or more oral presentations at recognized academic conferences; The experience requirements can be satisfied through employment, training, or an academic program. The Director, Science & Research will organize and manage collaborations with the lab and other departments/organizations; form research strategies for current and future projects of the lab; lead cancer genomics big data projects, participate in, and provide guidance for team members on data analysis, interpretation, integration, and presentation; lead real-time interactive genomic analysis software projects, participate in, and provide guidance for team members on application design, software architecture, implementation and testing, and deployment and operation; lead algorithmic development projects, participate in, and provide guidance for team members on computational algorithm developments for novel and personalized cancer therapeutics; and prepare scientific publications and presentations.
