JOB SUMMARY

The Student Success Coach is responsible for conducting non-credit career training, student outreach and recruiting, assisting students with applying for scholarship funds, providing resource referrals, coaching students to program completion, assisting students with scheduling licensure and certification exams, and tracking student completion and exam pass rate data. This part-time position provides a maximum of 24 hours per week, funded by funds from the Governor's Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Funds through June 30, 2023. This position reports the Manager of Student Success.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Conduct non-credit career training, student outreach, and recruiting efforts
    • Assist students with applying for scholarship funds
    • Coach students to program completion as needed
    • Provide training completion support through regular contact and customer service
    • Track and maintain student completion and exam pass rate data.
    • Assist students with scheduling licensure and certification exams
    • Assist the Student Support Staff as needed
    • Provide students with resource referrals
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK: 

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Three years of related experience in advising, student guidance/counseling, and/or higher education
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to use computers and software for word processing, data entry and scholarship application process
  • Ability to use small office equipment, including copy machines and multi-line telephone systems
  • Must be positive, flexible, cooperative, and supportive.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work is normally sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Periodically, it requires standing for longer periods of time during presentations or fairs.  Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:  

  • Hear/talk/communicate – Must be able to exchange information and communicate 
  • Visual Acuity - Ability to perceive or detect surroundings
  • Mental acuity – Able to focus, concentrate, understand and convey subject matter
  • Repetitive motion (i.e. keyboarding)
  • Stand/sit/walk - Able to move or traverse from one area to another

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

College campus, direct contact with students, staff, faculty and the general public in classrooms, common areas, offices, and campus environments. Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office, meeting, and training rooms; use of safe workplace practices with office equipment; computers for data entry and word processing; avoidance of trips and falls; observance of fire and building safety regulations and College policies; and observance of traffic signals and laws when/if driving, including any College vehicle.
